Cold Ash Parish Council approved a budget of £81,302 for the year 2025-2026. The budget allows for contracts for emptying bins, grass cutting, tree work and maintaining safe and enjoyable play areas as well as administering the Council’s activities and The Poor’s Allotments & Recreation Ground Charities (The Poor’s Charities provide our Recreation Ground, Allotments and wonderful Wildlife Allotment Garden). We added new project budgets in response to concerns and requests that residents raised with us. These projects include Road Safety & Speeding, Recreation Ground Grass Treatments, CCTV for the Hermitage Road car park and a budget to facilitate defence of our Neighbourhood Development Plan.
The 2025-2026 precept requested by the Parish Council via West Berkshire Council Tax is £73,928. We were able to request a precept lower than our budget by managing the previous year’s budget to achieve an underspend and by using bank interest earned.
